Admissions

Independent schools run their own admissions. You register directly with the school, usually for a fee, and the school sets its own deadlines, assessments and offer dates, which are separate from the borough process.

Entry points, as published by the school

  • Year 7 (11+) · 75 places

Written papers in English and Maths (no verbal or non-verbal reasoning tests); selected candidates are invited to a 30-minute interview with experienced staff which includes further Maths and English testing in the form of verbal questions. Parents are not interviewed. Around 70 to 75 places for external applicants joining Year 7; Year 7 is the standard point of entry to the Senior School. Source

Offers are conditional (average grade 7 across GCSEs and grade 8 in subjects to be continued). Source

  • Reception (4+) · 40 places

Two-stage assessment: a first stage of play activities testing school readiness lasting about an hour (children grouped by age, about 12-16 per group), followed by a second stage for recalled candidates comprising a group activity and one-to-one puzzles and games with a member of teaching staff. Source

  • Year 3 (7+)
