Privacy notice

Last updated 10 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-10.3

In short. Deep Teaching helps parents and guardians compare schools in London. To do that we store what you tell us: your name and email address, an optional phone number, your child's first name if you choose to give it, their year group or age, and your questionnaire answers. We use it to show you schools, to keep your account working and to improve the service. We do not sell your data, we show no advertising, and you can download or delete everything from your account settings at any time.

1. Who we are

The data controller is Deep Teaching Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17487271, registered office Suite Ra01, 195-197 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU.

Contact for privacy matters: privacy@deepteaching.ai. General contact: hello@deepteaching.ai. You can also use the data request form.

This notice is written under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Special educational needs and health

The questionnaire does not currently ask whether your child has special educational needs or a disability. An earlier version included an optional yes/no question, and a small number of older sessions may still hold that answer until they expire. If we ask it again it will be clearly optional, it will be used only to avoid suggesting schools that are unlikely to be suitable, and we will rely on your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Please do not put health or medical details in free-text fields. If you choose to tell us such information by email, we use it only to reply to you.

4. Children

Deep Teaching is for parents and guardians aged 18 or over. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The information about a child that we hold is given to us by their parent or guardian, and we keep it to the minimum: a first name (optional), a year group or age, and the parent's answers. If you believe a child has given us their own data, please tell us and we will delete it.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We use the following service providers ("processors"), who act only on our instructions:

The optional maths assessment is provided by our sister product, airTeacher. If you start it from your dashboard we pass a signed reference containing internal identifiers and your child's year group, with no name or email address. airTeacher has its own privacy notice.

We may disclose data if the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims. If the business is sold or reorganised, your data may pass to the new owner under the same protections, and we will tell you beforehand.

6. International transfers

Our database is held in the European Union, which the UK recognises as providing adequate protection. Where a provider processes data in the United States or elsewhere outside the UK, we rely on the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.

7. How long we keep it

When you delete your account we permanently delete your user record, children, profiles, answers, saved lists and sessions straight away, and remove the link between your past usage events and you.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

To use any of these rights, email privacy@deepteaching.ai or use the data request form. We reply within one month. There is no charge.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

9. Cookies

We use only cookies that are strictly necessary for the service you ask for. We use no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The full list is on the cookies page.

10. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Passwords and sign-in tokens are stored only as one-way hashes. Access to the production database is restricted to the operator. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach is likely to put you at risk we will tell you and the ICO as the law requires.

11. School data: sources and licences

Information about schools on Deep Teaching comes from:

Some descriptive scores are our own interpretation of published material and are labelled as such. Schools change their fees, dates and policies; always confirm details with the school.

12. Is something about your school wrong? Tell us

If you represent a school and something we show is wrong or out of date, please use the data request form and choose "Correct information about a school". We review every request and correct verified errors promptly. There is no charge and no commercial relationship is needed.

13. Editorial independence

No school pays to appear on Deep Teaching, to be ranked higher or to be described more favourably. Paid placement does not influence the schools we show or the order in which we show them. If that ever changes for any part of the service, the paid content will be clearly labelled.

14. Changes and contact

We will update this notice when the service changes, and change the date and version at the top. If a change is significant we will tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
