Admissions

Independent schools run their own admissions. You register directly with the school, usually for a fee, and the school sets its own deadlines, assessments and offer dates, which are separate from the borough process.

Entry points, as published by the school

  • Year 7 (11+) · 60 places

Competitive entry via three written examinations (English, Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning) taken in December of Year 6, with interviews for selected candidates in January. A confidential head teacher's reference is requested and an end-of-Year-5 school report must be uploaded at registration. It is not possible to apply for both 11+ and 13+ entry. Source

  • Year 9 (13+) · 20 places

Boys are assessed in Year 6: entrance tests taken in December of Year 6 (on the same day as the 11+ tests) with interviews of approximately 20 minutes for selected candidates in January and conditional offers made in February of Year 6. Entry to Year 9 is then confirmed by two satisfactory head teacher's reports (end of summer term Year 7 and end of spring term Year 8), with places confirmed by mid-May of Year 8. It is not possible to apply for both 11+ and 13+ entry. Source

  • Sixth form (16+) · 55 places

Written tests in English, Mathematics and a General paper in November of Year 11; candidates who qualify through the written tests are invited for three 15-minute interviews (two subject-based, one general) in mid-November. A confidential head teacher's reference and end-of-Year-10 report are required. Offers are made in early December and are generally unconditional. Source

  • Year 3 (7+) · 54 places
