Admissions

Independent schools run their own admissions. You register directly with the school, usually for a fee, and the school sets its own deadlines, assessments and offer dates, which are separate from the borough process.

Entry points, as published by the school

  • Year 7 (11+)

Two-stage entrance examinations: the ISEB Common Pre-Test (computer-based, age-standardised tests in Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Maths and English) followed by LEH's own problem-solving exam testing linguistic and logic problem-solving with elements of Maths and English. Candidates who perform well proceed to interviews with senior teaching staff. Around 120 Senior School places in total, of which approximately one-third go to LEH Junior School pupils and two-thirds to girls joining at 11+. All entrance-exam candidates are automatically considered for academic scholarships. Source

  • Sixth form (16+)

External applicants complete an online aptitude test and a written stimulus response paper (no advance preparation needed); school references are requested before the November examinations and interviews follow for those successful. Conditional offers require seven I/GCSEs at grades 9-7 plus subject-specific grade requirements for chosen A Levels. Source

  • Year 3 (7+) · 48 places

Girls sit computer-based reasoning assessments on-site in small groups of up to 24, complete Mathematics and English assessments, and may be invited to attend an observed problem-solving activity session. Source
