How to read these dates

  • State school dates are national, set by the School Admissions Code. Your own council's page is the authority; many are linked from each borough page.
  • Independent schools set their own deadlines. Each date here was read from the school's admissions page and links to it from the school's page.
  • Dates a school gives only loosely ("early January") are left off this list and marked approximate on the school's page.
  • A date can change. Confirm with the school or council before you rely on it, and tell us if one is wrong.
