Admissions

Independent schools run their own admissions. You register directly with the school, usually for a fee, and the school sets its own deadlines, assessments and offer dates, which are separate from the borough process.

  • Year 7 (11+) · 40 places

    One-day assessment in the Lent term of the year of entry: papers in English, Mathematics and a general paper (which could include graded spelling, non-verbal puzzles and listening skills), similar in style to Common Entrance; no special preparation recommended. All candidates are interviewed by senior leadership. Families are advised to register at least two years prior to the year of entry. Approximately 40 places (main intake). 96% of pupils are baptised Catholic; non-Catholic applicants should contact Admissions. Source

  • Year 9 (13+) · 20 places

    Two-day examinations with an overnight stay at the school in November of the year prior to entry: papers in English, Mathematics, Science, Religious Studies, History or Geography, French or an alternative modern language (Spanish, Italian or German) and Latin, similar to Common Entrance. Candidates are interviewed by the Headmistress or senior staff. Approximately 20 places. Source

  • Sixth form (16+) · 5 places

    Assessment in November/December of the year prior to entry: a general paper, subject-specific interviews with heads of department, and an interview with the Headmistress and Head of Sixth Form. Approximately 5 places. Source
