    South Hampstead is a member of the London 11+ Consortium; candidates sit the Consortium entrance examination (familiarisation materials available via the Consortium website) and those who do well are invited for interview. Approximately 55 new girls join Year 7 annually. Acceptance requires a £4,000 deposit. Source

  • Sixth form (16+)

    Candidates sit an entrance examination in three subjects plus a general paper, followed by interviews in mid-November for those successful. A report with predicted GCSE grades is requested from the current school. Entry requires at least six GCSE subjects at grade 8/9. Source

  • Reception (4+) · 24 places

    Two-stage assessment: a first assessment in early November in small groups arranged by birth month (girls are not asked to read or write), with approximately half of applicants invited to a second assessment in mid-January, at which stage nursery references are requested. A £4,000 deposit secures an offered place. Source

  • Year 3 (7+) · 24 places

    Applicants spend half a day at South Hampstead in small groups completing tests in maths, writing and comprehension, plus a round-table discussion for which no preparation is required. The school does not provide past papers. An optional taster session is offered beforehand and does not influence admissions decisions. Source
