Admissions

Independent schools run their own admissions. You register directly with the school, usually for a fee, and the school sets its own deadlines, assessments and offer dates, which are separate from the borough process.

Entry points, as published by the school

  • Year 7 (11+)

Registration for September 2027 closes on 10 November 2026. Candidates attend a Welcome Morning during the Autumn term (ten dates available) consisting of a one-on-one interview with a senior member of staff, a creative writing task and an interactive group task, and sit the ISEB Common Pre-test between early November and 9 December (at their current school, or at JAGS on 8 or 9 December). The school seeks spark, curiosity and potential rather than pre-prepared knowledge; offers are sent on Thursday 11 February 2027. Source

  • Year 9 (13+)

Dependent on numbers, a small number of chance vacancy places are occasionally available for entry into Years 8, 9 and 10 (no applications are accepted at 15 years). Registration for September 2027 entry closes on 10 November 2026; candidates for all year groups sit the CAT4 online reasoning test plus papers in English and Maths on Thursday 7 January 2027, and strong performers are invited to interview. Offers are sent on Friday 5 February 2027. Source

  • Sixth form (16+)

Registration for September 2027 closes on 19 October 2026. Admission is based on Entrance Examination results and a school reference; assessments for 2027 entry are held on Tuesday 17 November 2026 and include a Thinking Skills paper, a Critical Essay paper and interviews with both general and subject-specific questions. All offers are conditional on achieving the required GCSE grades set out in the Sixth Form prospectus; offers are sent in early December with an acceptance deadline in early January. Source

  • Reception (4+)

Applications from a variety of educational settings, including home-schooled children, are encouraged. The application window for September 2027 opens on Monday 7 September 2026 with a deadline of Friday 6 November for all Junior School registrations. Children attend an approximately 40-minute assessment visit at the Pre-Prep with age-appropriate activities and games (no preparation needed); assessments run over the latter half of the Autumn term and early Spring term, allocated by date of birth. Offers are made on Friday 22 January 2027 with acceptance by midday on Friday 29 January 2027. Source

  • Year 3 (7+)

Register by Friday 6 November (window opens 7 September 2026 for 2027 entry). Candidates attend an assessment morning on Thursday 7 January 2027 with written assessments in Maths and English (reading comprehension and writing) and computer-based Reasoning tests; most successful girls are working above National Curriculum expectations by the end of Year 2. Girls who do well are invited back for an individual interview in the week commencing Monday 18 January 2027 (oral reading test plus written and mental Maths extension activities); second-round outcomes by Thursday 28 January 2027 and acceptance by midday on Friday 5 February 2027. Chance vacancies occasionally arise in other Junior year groups via a no-fee enquiry form. Source
